Location is everything.
Virginia Space Flight Academy is located near NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility, the Navy’s Surface Combat System Center, and a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) facility. Field trips to these facilities are built into the week-long program. Campers get to see and hear from engineers, pilots, and other professionals about their work. Standing close to the launch pad where the Antares soars into space; getting inside the facility where the real rocket is assembled; meeting with pilots at Range Control; getting tours of the Machine Shop and Payload Processing are all part of the experience.
Helping nurture the next generation workforce is what it’s all about.
