Mission: Possible – Robotic Exploration – Robotics/Coding Module
Robots, originally the dreams of science-fiction, are found everywhere these days; assisting in manufacturing, performing complex surgeries, or exploring hostile environments here on earth and other planets. You will dive into what a robot is, what makes it work, and why they are being used everywhere. You will learn how engineers design robots to complete specific tasks. You will build and program a series of robots with guidance from live sessions and the app. You will then design, build, program, and test a robot to accomplish a specific task.
Each STEM Academy Explorer will receive a physical kit (~$150 value) of tools and materials to help guide their journey. Additionally, you will have access to digital resources curated just for this course. STEM explorers will engage in the curriculum through live class sessions, asynchronous at-home activities, and complete assignments.

Cost: $200 per STEM Explorer per module (partial scholarships available)
Kit Details: Each kit comes with approximately $150 worth of materials related to the course. The robotics/coding module kit contains a complete robotics kit and some other STEM and space-related swag. A tablet (Apple or Android) is necessary for the coding application. Kits are designed to be supplemented with tools and materials readily available in most homes.
Course Details: Students will engage in 3-4 live interactive sessions with our STEM Education Specialist and special guest speakers. Students will engage in asynchronous activities and complete assignments in between live sessions. The module will make use of the Google Classroom platform for assignments, etc. Live sessions will be scheduled based on student availability and conducted through Zoom.
Students completing the module may be eligible for scouting badge credit.
